General: This amateur fishing tournament is a team event of two anglers. The proceeds of this tournament will be donated to the non-profit organization “Pink Up the Pace”, serving both women and men of St. Johns County with needed mammography services to detect breast cancer. Sea Love Charters will provide the fishing boat, Sea Love II, located at 220 Nix Boat Yard Rd, St Augustine FL 32084. All anglers will fish from this boat. This fun event will be a one day event with cash and prize awards.
Date: Saturday October 22, 2022. Should weather prohibit the selected fishing day as determined by Sea Love Charters, the rescheduled date is October 29, 2022. If this date is not suitable for fishing either it will be at the discretion of Sea Love Charters to reschedule or cancel.The boat rules of Sea Love Charters will apply to this tournament, please visit Sealovefishing.com.
Each angler must enter by registering through www.mammosmatter.org by October 1, 2022 for the early registration fee, and October 21, 2022 for the late registration fee.The early entry fee is $175 per person which includes gratuity to the crew. Late entry fees will be $225 per person. The number of participants will not exceed 22 teams, for a total of 44 anglers. If the tournament’s manifest is filled, a waitlist will be established. Any angler under 18 must be accompanied by an adult as their team member. Individuals not entering with a teammate will be matched with other singles by a random drawing after the closing entry date. No refunds will be made for cancellations after October 15, 2022.
A Mandatory Captain’s Meeting will be held Friday October 21 at 6:30 PM at the St. Augustine Fish House & Oyster Company, located at 160 Nix Boat Yard Road. At least one member of the team must attend. Tournament points will be awarded for attendance at the meeting. (10 pts for one member attending, 20 pts if both attend) Questions or concerns regarding any rules should be surfaced at this meeting. IF NEEDED, the tournament committee may award additional bonus referral points to a team in order to recruit and refer additional teams in order to fill the boat for the tournament.
Check in will be between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM on Saturday October 22, 2022 at Cat’s Paw Marina. No private vessels are allowed. A team’s choice of fishing spots on the boat will be based on when a team registers for the tournament. First team to register, gets first pick. Following selections will proceed based on date/time of registration.The Sea Love II will be marked and numbered based on the number of teams prior to check in. The boat will leave the dock at 7:00 AM and return at 4:00 PM. The captain of the boat will determine the number and location of fishing spots in the Atlantic.
Each angler must hook, fight, and bring any large fish to the point of net or gaff, line leader. Rod passing can only be made between team members. For large fish, the boat crew will assist by using a net or gaff to land the fish.
All fish must be caught with hand held rods and reels. You may use equipment and bait provided by the boat or you may bring your own equipment and bait. A maximum of three rods and reels per person will be allowed. Aerators will not be provided by the boat for live bait, teams will need to provide their own. Live chumming is prohibited. Squid will be provided on the boat. More than one rod and reel is permitted but only one line per person may be fished at any time. Flat lining is allowed from the teams assigned spot.

Fishing will end upon notification from the Captain, at approximately 2:00 pm. While traveling to the dock, weigh-in and team calculations will begin. Upon arriving at the dock, the crew will clean the fish you desire to keep. Ice will be available for coolers.
In case of a tie in any contest the earliest fish caught will be the winner.
The Weigh-in Master has the right to reject rotten or mutilated fish.
Teams may not give other teams fish they have caught until after the weigh-in.
Fishing license requirements are met by Sea Love Charters. All fish must be of legal size per state and federal regulations.
Any protest against an entry or entries must be submitted to the Tournament Committee in writing by 4:30 PM, accompanied by a $100 fee, on the day of the tournament. If the protest is honored the $100 fee is refundable, if it is not honored the fee is not refunded. The decision of the committee shall be final. The committee will be tournament organizers, the weigh-master and captain.
The Tournament Committee has the right to change the rules up to or during the Captain’s Meeting. We also reserve the right to refuse any registration. The decisions made by the committee will be final.
All tournament winners must be present at tournament awards to receive winnings. If you are not present you forfeit your winnings. Awards will begin at 5:00 at Fishbites located at 170 Nix Boat Yard Road. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
It is understood all participants enter at their own risk. All persons directly or indirectly with the operations of the Mammos Matter Charity Fishing Tournament shall be exempt from loss, damage, liability, negligence, or injury suffered to any entrant which may occur during the tournament.
